Dear Future Self,
I want to prepare yourself for the real world out there. I want to teach you new things that nobody has taught you before. For example, being able to stick up for yourself and others, learn from your mistakes and do not repeat them, and lastly never give up on your dreams. I really do believe that not doing those things in the past has really affected the present. I want you to now know to do those things in the near future when you go out into the real world, start a new job, raise a family, and much more.
I had chosen this photo next to this paragraph, because I feel like I really had learned a lot in this course. I still feel like I have many flaws still to work on that we had talked about in this course for example, the use of commas and semi-colons. I feel like I know the basics of using them, but I still need to work on them more. I feel like my writing as gotten way better than before, because I feel like with the personal narrative I was able to express my feelings easily about how my experience of going to that farm really played a huge role on what I wanted to be when I start searching for a career. I am better at writing essays that can express my feelings about my real life experiences verses writing a paper about something that I have zero interest in writing about. I really liked how Dr. Kyburz gave us that opportunity to be able to express something deep that we had gone through. Another situation that we had done in class that I really enjoyed was the Mock Interrogations. I had mentioned in one of my blog posts that I felt that I did not show what I was really capable of doing verses the other group. I will admit that I am more of an introvert, but I feel like I am the type of person who will be very loud and obnoxious to people who I feel more comfortable with. I did really enjoy how Dr. Kyburz attempted to get our class to try and speak out more, but unfortunately I think most of our class was introverts too. Another thing that I had enjoyed doing in this class was writing up police reports. I found it very interesting, and I loved being able to watch the different types of crimes and having to come up with the reports for the crime that our group had chosen. Usually I am not a huge fan of group work, but I feel like the groups that I were in with this course, everyone had contributed the work that they were assigned to. Nobody took over the assignment, and nobody did nothing. We had certain individuals who had taken over as a leader, and the notetaker which was good because that was required and very much needed. We would not be getting anywhere in the project if nobody was willing to step up and take charge. Being in this course this semester I feel is really going to help me prepare for my career as a Fraud Investigator. While learning how to write reports, and using the correct punctuation in my writing, it will help me for when I need to use those skills for writing cases for fraud. I need to take these skills and use them for my benefit for my future self.
Sincerely,
The Present and Past Danielle Voltolina

School Year Ending
It is the final week of school at Lewis University. It has me feeling all types of ways of stress, relief, and excited for summer to start. Overall, I feel very confident of my grades so far, besides my Theology course. I am kind of upset about the course, because it really has absolutely nothing to do about my major and it bothers me on how it is a requirement to take here at school. Personally, I think it is just a waste of money and time. My grade in that class is not my best, and that is why it really bothers me that it may affect my GPA because of a course that is not even for my major. Anyway, I will not let that change my overall excitement of being done with school, minus having to take three summer school classes. So all in all I really only get a 2 week vacation until those classes start right up, which I will be back to stressing. Part of me cannot wait until College is over with, but another part of me wants it to keep going because I am to afraid of having to go out to get a real job verses my simple part-time job working at a fitness center. I think I will do fine in the real world, I just get too nervous to do interviews. I have only had to do two interviews, but I was younger, so I feel like it was ok for me to be shy and quiet during them.

Starbucks
A situation happened at a Philadelphia Starbucks in mid April. Two African American men were sitting in the Starbucks waiting for another individual to arrive to discuss a meeting. When one of the males asked to use the restroom (there is a padlock on it) the employee had said that the bathroom was for paying customers only. The situation turned out worse because the employee and the customer were arguing back and forth, which made the employee call 911 and claimed it as trespassing, because they did not purchase anything. Later, police arrived and were instantly arresting the two african american men until their friend actually showed up.
I personally never had a situation like that ever happen to me. The Starbucks near me does not require a padlock code to be able to use the bathroom nor ever require me to buy something. There was plenty of times that I had gone into Starbucks and just sat down to do homework. I feel like that is what a lot of individuals do. They go there to have meetings, or do work. I personally think that the employee acted poorly towards the customer, overall it is just a bathroom. Even if rules are rules I feel like it can be easily looked over.

Bill Cosby Verdict
On April 26th, Bill Cosby was found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault, for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in a Philadelphia suburb in 2004. He faces up to 10 years in prison for each count, but he will probably serve them concurrently. It personally grosses me out completely because I was such a fan of the Cosby show. It is very upsetting to see a horrible situation like that play out, and also very upsetting to know that this had happened in 2004 and he is 80 years old today. If someone really thinks about it he will probably die soon, so overall it is not really fair because he will not really get the type of treatment that he really does deserve. I could only imagine though how that girl feels, she can feel relieved or angry that it took that long to actually figure out everything and finally get what he deserves.

Mock Interrogation/Interview
In class the other day we were put into two separate groups, and were given two separate cases. We had to prepare for a mock interrogation/interview. While given the case, the groups were to come up with ten or more questions to ask another individual from the other side of the room, to see if they had committed the crime, and tried to get that individual to confess to the crime. While picking the individual we had to sit up in front of the class, and ask the individual our questions that we had come up with. I was the interviewer in our case, but did not really play the part well. I am not good with being put on the spot, even though technically the other person was more on the spot than I should have been. I believe that we could have done a better job with preparing for the mock interrogation, I feel like it was just altogether thrown together. Overall, it was still a fun experience to go through, and I already know if I was the person who had to be interrogated I would defiantly be very nervous up there with the other individuals interrogating me because they were coming out hard, and were very good actors.

4 charged with digging up graves and reselling the plots
http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/07/09/illinois.cemetery.scheme/index.html
I was speaking with my boyfriends grandma and she had brought up this story that had happened back in 2009. I decided to read up on it and was very disgusted. There were 4 individuals-cemetery manager Carolyn Towns; foreman Keith Nicks; dump-truck operator Terrence Nicks; and backhoe operator Maurice Dailey who were all charged and convicted for their roles in the macabre scheme. These individuals dug up dead bodies and dumped the dead bodies behind the cemetery to be able to resell the plots to make more money. Not only did they dig up dead bodies they were burying people on top of other people. This happened at Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip, IL. I do not understand on how people can be in the right mind set to be able to do something that sickening to other families. Those people really thought that they would be able to get away with something that terrible. I feel so sorry for those family members who had to face such a horrible situation like that, and have their own family members be disturbed at rest. I had read another article and it had said that all of the bodies that were dumped are getting put back into the ground.

Easter Break
I ended up driving up to Wisconsin to celebrate Easter at my cousins house. It was nice to get away and visit with my family, because these are the only family members that my family even interacts with. (We had a lot of family drama in our past) The cousin's house that we went to is the youngest of the four cousins and she is 24. She is the first one who is getting married. Her wedding is going to be in October down in Wisconsin. I am very excited for my cousin, but she is the type of girl who needs to go full out with everything. She was already telling my sister and I about how her whole wedding is going to be planned out, she has her theme being "sparkles" which requires her to have an overall sparkly dress. I love my cousin with all my heart do not get me wrong, but sometimes she is a tiny bit super facial for my liking. Overall, I am very happy for her to be getting married and I do hope that all will work out for her in the end.

Interviewing and Interrogation
The short film Scaredycat presented by Andy Blubaugh reveals the productive thoughts of memory and through the concept of fear. In the short film that Andy had presented to us, Andy is known for having these types of rituals ever since he was a little boy which was him having to align his feet with every floor board that he came across, and that he had to have every item that he saw straightened out, from a picture frame to a piece of newspaper on the bus.
One day Andy was riding his bicycle late at night and had gotten jumped by 5 individuals. He had encountered a face to face moment with one of the individuals who had jumped him and that man happened to be an African American man. After having that encounter with the African American man, Andy had only remembered all of the men being African American, which they were not. Two of them were white men, and the other one was hispanic. The reason why Andy had thought they were all black men who had jumped him was because of the encounter he had with the African American man who he last had saw. From being in a state of shock he started to have a fear of African American men who he would come across in a public or private area. He would see them on the bus, and he if he felt uncomfortable he would get off the bus or walk away from the individual. People may say that he would be stereotyping the situation, and in a way he is, but people need to remember his exact situation and realize why he thinks what he is thinking.
Later, Andy decided to call one of the men who had jumped him for a type of interview. He had asked the man why he did what he did and the guy had said, "Andy was at the wrong place at the wrong time" and that he did feel guilty in a way for doing what he had done. The criminal was later telling Andy that he did not feel it was fair for him to have to be put in prison for such a long period of time, because by the time he gets out he would be 33 years old and would have no real life experience to be put into the real world, which would make him commit more crimes. Andy had said that he did understood that the people who jumped him deserved to get what they got, but later felt bad after he heard the guy say that he would not have any use of being put into the real world after.
While reading the article The Reid Technique and False Confessions it made me understand the situation way better. It was created in the 1940s by a former policeman named John Reid, the method is "really considered the gold standard of interview and interrogation techniques," Starr tells the Fresh Air's Terry Gross. When John Reid was doing this in the 1950s, people had thought that you were able to see anxiety in a person's body language. If the person had their arms folded, or was hunched over, or looked away, they were being anxious, and also that anxiety was a hallmark of lying. But, 40 years of extensive research has shown that both of those premises were actually untrue. Anxiety has nothing to do with lying. It is said that there is many liars who could look at you straight in the eye and very calmly lie up a storm right to your face. Body language has nothing to do with deception.
Overall, a lot of people tend to feel guilty with situations and will confess up to something that they never even did, because of the amount of pressure cops put on them through interrogation. In the Reid's article it had said how a man named Darrel Parker had eventually succumbed to the suggestion of murdering his wife, because Reid was putting it in his head that his wife was unfaithful, and that he would've done there same thing. Putting things in people's mind to get them to confess about something is very wrong. Many people could be innocent, but got put in prison and falsely accused just because of a false confession. Even though cops want to just "capture" someone and end the case, they should really look more into the case.

Seek Death Penalty for Cruz
Do you believe that Cruz will receive the death penalty? In my opinion I feel like he will not. There has been so many young kids who deserved to have the death penalty done to them, but since they still are looked at as a "baby" they will not give them the death penalty. Already Cruz was locked in a cell by himself for protection, because they know that he would get eaten up alive in Prison with the other prisoners, which he deserves. Cruz should not be getting any type of special treatment at all from what he has done to those innocent teenagers.
Reading in an article, "Florida Shooting: Prosecutors seek death penalty for Nikolas Cruz", by BBC News it states that they are looking to give him the death penalty. Personally, I feel like they are just looking for more attention to bring to him to make it look like they are actually going to do something about the situation. In the article it had mentioned how Nikolas Cruz will plead guilty if it means he will not get the death penalty. Even though according to them he does not consider himself "guilty". That is one of the most sickening things that I have ever heard. The fact someone does not believe that they are guilty, but will only plead guilty because they do not want to be placed on the death penalty is honestly ridiculous. That is not even a far trade. He had taken 17 innocent teenagers lives away from their friends and family, so why should he deserve to live and be safe in prison away from all of the other criminals?

Spring Break
Over spring break I had gone to Cancun, Mexico with my boyfriend. It was my first vacation in over 5 years. I was very nervous to go into a different country because it was my first time doing that also. Plus my first time being on a plane since I was about 10 years old. The overall experience was actually really fun and I enjoyed myself a lot. It was scary having to go through immigration because I had never done that before, but it was actually really simple minus getting the sheets in Spanish. The other con with going to Cancun is not many people spoke English and if they did it was very hard to understand. The resort was beautiful though we were on our own private beach, and it was all inclusive which made it 10x better. The only scary thing that I had experienced was when my boyfriend and I went into the town. The people there were very pushy to sell stuff to you, and we ended up walking in a very sketchy area with plenty of creeps around. We ended up getting on a bus that took us the wrong direction from our resort, but luckily we had a nice lady who spoke English and Spanish and told the bus driver that he needed to stop for us to be able to get onto another bus going the right direction. Overall, the trip was beautiful and I would defiantly do it again only with a bigger crowd of people who know what they are doing.

Washington Post
The post from the Washington Post, White House softens tone on gun-control measures after Trump meets with NRA, by David Nakamura has shown some major issues in what had been said by President Trump. President Trump had mentioned that he believes that all teachers should be armed with a gun to prevent major issues like that incident that had just happened at Parkland, Florida with Nikolas Cruz shooting 17 students. As I talked about in my last post I still do not feel like teachers should have guns, we should leave the guns to the pros like the police officers. Even though in the last post the deputy who was on at the school did not do anything I still feel like teachers are not fully trained enough to be able to have a gun. The teachers in my opinion would be more scared to shoot at a student especially if they know who the student is. It would give the teachers more of a higher authority and even so something scary could happen with a teacher having a gun. With the zero experience that certain teachers may have with guns it could actually cause them to feel like they have more power and it may even get to their heads and cause more issues.
I think it is a good idea to raise the age limit on being able to purchase a gun. Personally, I still feel like 21 is such a young age to purchase a gun. I still feel like people are not very mature to maintain and handle a gun, especially in a serious situations. A person who is that young I still feel like would be scared and frightened and would not know how to handle a situation if they needed too. I would probably changed the age to at least 25 years old because at that age I feel like the brain is actually more developed and could handle the situation at the time being verses the age of 18/21 years old.

As Gunman Rampaged Through Florida School, Armed Deputy 'Never went in'
I decided to read upon the article from the New York Times As Gunman Rampaged Through Florida School, Armed Deputy 'Never Went in'. While reading the article first I focused on the concept on the tip that was received by a student telling the F.B.I that Nikolas Cruz had owned a gun and had said that he had wanted to shoot up the school and become a professional school shooter. Right then and there that is a HUGE red flag that had been missed. If anyone had mentioned anything about a school shooting they should have immediately took action and investigated and not just ignore it.
Now talking about the incident with the deputy not going into the school while the shooting was happening is honestly ridiculous. There should be zero excuses for him to of not gone in the building and helped out the students who needed it. It seems as if he only wanted to protect himself and did not fully care enough to help out considering that is his job. People were saying how he could have been in shock and did not know how to handle the situation, but he was a trained officer and that is why he should have been able to handle the situation. It is very smart that the deputy sheriff had placed him under investigation to hear his side of the story, because I'm sure a ton of people want answers. I look it as also being selfish on his part. It is his job to protect and serve and he had done the complete opposite of that. He was more so looking out for himself rather than the students. What is also ridiculous is the fact that they have an armed deputy in the school, but now they want teachers to be armed also? That is the biggest mistake anyone could ever do. Not only could it possibly cause more school shootings, the teachers are not professionally trained to handle a gun like a police officer is and should be.

Bridgeton Covered Bridge
http://www.bridgetonindiana.com/attractions/new_coveredbridge.htm
On April 28th 2005 the Bridgeton Covered Bridge had burned down. The local community had started a fund raiser to try and have the bridge rebuilt. Fund raising began and on January 12, 2006 a bridge raising ceremony was held. On August 28, 2006 the spans of the bridge were lifted onto the abutments. The completed bridge was dedicated on October 1, 2006. This bridge is located in Indiana about thirty-forty minutes from Terre Haute Indiana in which Indiana State University is located in.
I was with a group of friends driving around this girls home town area in which she brought us to this small town. The small town was dead and kind of creepy to be walking around in because nobody was there at all. I was not used to being in a town like that because where I am from which is the Mokena/Frankfort area it is completely packed with all sorts of people and places. The only thing that I really enjoyed about that place was that it would be a cool place to go and hang out with a group of friends for free. In my town anything you would want to do with friends it would require you to pay a ton of money which in my opinion is very annoying.

In the group project that we had to do for finding different types of genres in law enforcement, my group and I found the four types of police reports, which were Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, and Type 4. In Type 1 it is known for no action is taken from the police officers. In this type the police officers only look, listen, and write. They also record what happened before you arrive and the challenges are the accuracy, professionalism, and completeness. These types specifically include incident reports. Some examples of them are theft, sexual attack etc. In type 2 it requires investigation. It is similar to type one the only difference is that they look, listen, write and then investigate. The police officers record what happened, plus the results of your investigation. The challenges they face are that the procedures were followed, and were included in your investigation even if they were negative. The next type was type 3 which is look, listen, write, investigate, and take an active role in resolving the situation. The information that is required is what happened, plus the results of your investigation and the nature of your intervention. The last type is type 4, which initiate the investigation and follow through with it. Tell why you got involved, and the results of the outcome of it. The probable cause maybe an issue from it.
The police report that I had to talk about was the type 1 report. In type 1 I had found examples of some police reports that did not engage in going further than just a look, listen, and write situation. There was a case involving a 10 year old girl named Victoria who was killed by her mother, the mothers boyfriend and the boyfriends cousin. While reading the article it stated that Victoria had mentioned to family friends that a different boyfriend of the mom's had tried to kiss her and also mentioned that the New Mexico's Children, Youth and families department had forward a complaint related to Victoria Martens five months before she died and the police ignored it. If the police did not ignore the situation it said they could have found out the Victoria's mother had been searching online for men who would engage in sexual activity with her children. The police did an interview with Victoria and her mother and said there was nothing suspicious with them and left it at that. The whole situation could have saved a child's life if the police would have actually done some investigating on her family, especially since they had gotten calls about it in the first place.

Snow Day!
The past few weeks have been brutal with this cold weather. The other day they had closed the campus down a 4:00pm because of a bad snow storm coming our way. On February 8th we actually had gotten a call saying that the whole campus will be closed on February 9th, because of another snow storm. I was very grateful for the campus being closed down because I commute to campus, which is a thirty minutes drive for me, which I have to cross over that horrible one lane bridge. I know other people commute way further than me, but still I am very happy that they had cancelled classes that day. I believe though that my parents would not even let me drive to class, so it all worked out in the end. It is nice to have snow days to take a break once in a while from classes. It was kind of annoying though because that day I was still required to go into work that day, which again I only live five minutes away from work, but you would think even after so many places shutting down they would have to. You would not think that a fitness center would be getting people to come out and work out in a snow storm, but boy was I wrong. So many people still came out to work out. After working at a fitness center, you would truly understand how crazy people are to actually be putting themselves at risk just to get a quick thirty-to an hour work out in. People kept saying they did not want to be stuck in the house all day. I do not understand how these people could not miss one day of working out. People are nuts!!

After Innocence - Trailer
I have provided the trailer of the film After Innocence by Jessica Sanders. In this film it is very interesting to watch and understand how the Criminal Justice System handles certain types of situations that they come across. The Criminal Justice System shows us how careless they really on to actually help out people who are later found to be proven innocent. These seven men who were in this film were all proven innocent from as short as 6 1/2 years to as long as 22 years. Throughout the film it shows how one man had the DNA evidence proven to not be his for three years after he was convicted because his evidence was given to them too early, so they said they could not do anything for him. Half of these men would still be in prison if it was not for the group they found called the Innocence Project or from just someone else confessing to the crime. It is an understanding that a ton of people get accused of rape if they did not do it because whoever was the one being raped could give a false description because at that moment they were not fully paying attention to who their rapist was, that was not their focus. It is an upsetting situation that people have to go through, but it happens. Overall, I really enjoyed watching this film because I feel like it give whoever watched it a good insight on what really goes on in the Criminal Justice System.
An 'Iceberg' of Unseen Crimes
Reading in the New York Times, I came across an article called An 'Iceberg' of Unseen Crimes: Many Cyber Offenses Go Unreported, by Al Baker. In this article it talks about all of the unseen crimes like finding out that there was a lack of data on internet sales of fentanyl, when IPhones were getting stolen the detectives treated it as an unrelated street crime rather than a vast scheme with connected channels used by thieves to sell stolen phones, and lastly investigators had no meaningful statistics on a nasty new swindle called the "cheating husband" email scheme, which threatened to unmask a large number of men's infidelities. Each of these cases demonstrates how the tools are used to fight crime and measure crime trends in the United State are outdated. Certain crimes are decreasing but plenty more are increasing.
With these types of crimes happening the only way detectives found out about the "cheating husband" scheme from faithful spouses who were not victims. The type of crime did not fit into any existing category, so the police had made no arrests, and had no statistics to feed to a national crime database in Washington that could prepare other jurisdictions for the scheme. Technology has created an extraordinary moment for criminals by increasing profits without the risk of street violence. These criminals could easy use stuff like the dark web etc. to get plenty of information or to be able to sell stuff on there with out getting caught from it.
In 2000, an Internet Crime Complaint established by the FBI to capture internet crime received more than 298,728 complaints in 2016, reflecting 1.3 billion in combined losses, according to a new report by Mr. Wexler's group. Mr. Wexler's group said its findings represented wake-up call for the nations 18,000 policing agencies facing an increase in technology-based crimes, that sprawl across jurisdictions, and recommended they fight back with similar tools by: developing their own digital expertise; hiring civilian analysts, etc. Above all, policing needs better systems for gathering data. Once you get out of cyberspace, data about anything is very limited that its really hard to figure out rvrn east might be happening locally that impacts that crime.

College Experience
I started college in August 2015. When I first went to College I went to Indiana State University for only one semester. Personally, being three hours away from home was not enjoyable for me. I was not really home sick, but I was missing my boyfriend because I hung out with him every single day. He would come to visit me every 2 weeks, but he worked Fridays and would not get there until 10pm, and he would have to leave early Sunday. I just felt like I never got to be with him a lot. When I came home for Winter Break I did not want to go back. My dad made a last minute call to Joliet Junior College and I got into it right away with no problems. It was honestly the best decision I have ever made too. I started off with over $3000 and came home with less than $2000. For that time period of only one semester I spent all of that money. I could not even picture if I was still going there because I would really get the whole "broke college student" experience. Not only was a spending money so quickly, I also gained a ton of weight known to be the college 15. Being at home made me save my money way better, and also considering I now work at a fitness center I am able to get the membership for free, which helps me be more motivated to work out more. Now I am in my first semester of Lewis University. Overall, the experience is fantastic and it is not that much different from Joliet Junior College expect the walking outside to other buildings. I really think I am going to enjoy my last year of college at Lewis.

Questions
as there a specific scene that got to you? Describe and explain how it moved you (Angry?
Curious? Delighted? Motivated?)
. Give a lot of detail, and really dive in to explain how it
affected you
1.Was there a specific scene that got to you? Describe and explain how it moved you (Angry?
Curious? Delighted? Motivated?) Give a lot of detail, and really dive in to explain how it
affected you. Don’t hold back.
The scene that has made me kind of curious was the case with Nick Harris being wrongfully convicted of rape and murder and was sentenced on death row and solitary confinement for 23 years. It made me curious because I question on how it took that long to prove him to be innocent after. If someone was wrongfully convicted for 23 years in my opinion it feels like the court did not try and rush anything to help Nick out. For someone having to be sentenced on death row for that long of a time you would personally think that they would look more into the case rather than waiting for that long especially if the man himself was pleading not guilty the entire time and telling the judge to his face that he was innocent and that they both knew that he did not commit that crime and the judge could not even directly make eye contact with Nick.
It personally affected me by showing how much the criminal justice system does not fully care enough about anyone to actually help them. They do not care that these people are taken away from their families and get their freedom taken away from themselves. It also shows that even after they are finally released from being wrongfully convicted the criminal justice system does not show remorse at all for those people. They just simply release them and that is it. For people who get their life taken away from them they should personally get something in return from being wrongfully convicted. Even something as little as $100.
2.What surprised you?
What had really surprised me would be the crime of Wilton. It surprised me because he was wrongfully convicted of rape for 22 years and sentenced for 2 life sentences. When his parents were then giving the description of what the girl who got raped described the rapist as Wilton did not have the same type of description as the rapist minus the long blond hair. He was 5’6 when the rapist was 6’0. How does someone even simply confuse a criminal description of something that simple to not miss. Personally, I feel like at some point the criminal justice system just simply wants to catch a person. I feel like they do not care who it is as long as they have someone they are content.
They then collected DNA from the case with a seman sample and two peices of hair from the case. The semen sample was inconclusive, but the hair sample was proven that it was not Wiltons, but since Wilton had not filed properly it then did not go as planned. They then told Wilton that he had basically proved his innocence to early. It still surprises me so much because it asks the question if innocence even matters? With this case i personally feel like it does not. The fact that Wilton had samples of the DNA and it showed that it was not him and they had the right to say to him that he is still considered guilty because he showed the DNA too early is ridiculous.
3.What questions remain after the viewing?
What feelings stayed with you after the film? Did
they “pop up” in your life in unexpected ways? When? How? What was that like?
The questions that still remain after viewing this film would be wondering with all of these falsely accused cases does the criminal justice system actually now take the time and try to help out people who are proved guilty but are really innocent? Or do they still not care enough and just want a person to prove guilty to make things go faster for them. Part of me feels angry with the concepts that were shown in this film. I feel like nothing was really done to help these people out who were falsely convicted. I said before a lot of these cases were convicted of rape which i said before is a touchy topic to be on. I feel like it is so easy to falsely accuse somebody of rape. Personally, I do not feel like it was the victim's fault because at the time of being rape they are not in the right mindset to even get a good look at the person who raped them. If they give them a description and show them a picture and it all matches up they will say it is that person when it really might not be.
I could never even imagine if I had ever gotten wrongfully convicted of something. The thoughts that would be racing through my head would drive me crazy. I would not know what to do or even say if the police had approached me and told me that I was guilty of something I did not do. I would be very scared and probably even start crying just from how scared and nervous I would be.
4.What problematic concepts do you see in the film, concepts you might research and write
about? Try to come up with at least five.
Some problematic concepts that I noticed in the film was that basically every case that got wrongfully convicted was rape. Rape is a touchy subject to talk about. I personally could understand on how so many people get constantly convicted of rape because while someone is getting raped they do not want to even think or look at the person who is doing it to them. I can see on how they can get a description wrong because that person is not attuned to what is happening at that moment. Another problematic concept that I had came across is how many years a person has been wrongfully convicted for and that nothing was done for 20+ years. It feels like the criminal justice system is not in any type of hurry to help out a person who was falsely convicted.
The third problematic concept that I had noticed was the conviction of Wilton. With Wilton’s case he had the DNA of hair samples that had proved his innocence and even with that they told him that he had proved his innocence to early. Instead of wanting to help someone out who was wrongfully convicted they were too concerned about themselves and how it would look on their part for wrongfully convicting someone who was innocent the whole 22 years of him being in prison. Another problematic concept that was shown was that these prisoners did not fully get the access of good people trying to help them out at all. I feel like they got the end of the totem pole.

Poshmark
Poshmark is an online website and app that allows you to sell clothing, beauty products, and other accessories. I recently joined Poshmark, and started listing a ton of clothes that I do not fit into anymore, or just do not care to have them anymore. I actually sold around six items so far and made a decent amount of cash. I really recommend people to join the app if they are looking to make a little extra cash for the summer. It does take time and skill to be able to sell a good amount of clothing, because like I said I only sold a little bit of clothing so far. Poshmark reminds me of a instagram page, because you post photos of your items, put captions on the photos to describe them, and you also gain followers/follow others. The only difference is that you are actually selling stuff of yours. With Poshmark the company takes 20% of what you sell the item for, they also provide you with a free shipping label to deliver your items to the people who had bought them.

The Old Joliet Prison
The Old Joliet Prison has been a huge attraction to the towns people. At the Old Joliet Prison Mayor Bob O'DeKirk has said it has been a huge problem for the Joliet Police and Fire Department. Why? Because people have been setting the Prison on fire and it has been causing major issues and is putting danger in the town. The Mayor had mentioned that he did not know what to do with the Prison considering it is such a huge attraction for people to go and visit. The Mayor was saying that there was thoughts about demolishing the prison and making it into a quarry, but then there was other thoughts of the Museum giving tours of the Prison.
It is a shame how people go out of their way to try and destroy a historical landmark. It takes away the situation for other people who may want to go out and actually not destroy the property and just want to visit it. Now when I had driven by they have a cop car parked outside of the Prison keeping guard from people who want to trespass and vandalize it. Not only is that disrespectful, but these people are taking the cops away from a more important type of job.
